The French Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Nicolas Cassianidis, and his accompanying delegation visited the Samaritan neighborhood yesterday and met with the high priest of the Samaritan community, Abdullah Wasef, and the director of the Samaritan Museum, Priest Husney.

Priest Husney welcomed the guest delegation, presenting the rich history of this small and oldest community in the world, the economic and social life of the Samaritan society, and their ongoing initiatives in building peaceful and friendly relationships and promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence in the land of divine religions.

Priest Husney also spoke about the important role played by the Samaritan Museum in disseminating the religious and cultural heritage of the Samaritan community, making it a cultural window for different peoples of the world, praising the depth of the historical relationship between France and the Samaritans.

The delegation, accompanied by the priest Husney, took a tour of the museum to see its exhibits of photos, paintings, sculptures, and archaeological pieces depicting community life over the years and then visited the Samaritan church.

In turn, the delegation emphasized the importance of cooperation and strengthening cultural communication and bilateral ties between the two parties.
